Accessibility Policy
Last updated September 2026
Engaged Destinations wants everyone to be able to use this site — including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard alone, magnification, voice control, or a phone in bright sun — and to book a stay, arrange an experience and manage a trip without help.
What we do
- The site is built to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA as its standard.
- Every page, form, calendar and dialog works from the keyboard, with a visible focus indicator. The date pickers are buttons, not custom widgets that trap focus.
- Photographs that carry meaning have text alternatives; decorative ones are hidden from assistive technology.
- Text can be enlarged to 200% without loss of content, and the site adapts to any screen width.
- The whole of a card is a link, not only a small caption — a choice made for people who find small targets hard.
- Headings over photographs sit on a darkened band so they stay readable at any contrast setting.
- Movement on the site respects your device's "reduce motion" setting.
- Emails are sent as plain text as well as HTML, so they read in any client.
Where we fall short
We test on current versions of Safari, Chrome and Firefox, on desktop and on iPhone. Some photographs supplied by partners may lack good descriptions until we have written them. The payment page is provided by Stripe and its accessibility is theirs. If you find something that does not work for you, we would like to know.
Booking another way
If any part of the site is in your way, email or call us and we will take your booking or arrange your experience ourselves, with the same prices and terms.
Tell us
Email stay@engageddestinations.com with the page and what happened, and we will fix it or find another way to get you what you needed. If you would rather talk, the number on the Contact page reaches a person.
