Politique de confidentialité

This policy explains what Engaged Destinations collects about you when you use this site and the guest portal, why, who sees it, and what you can do about it. We have tried to make it specific to what the site actually does.
What we collect
- Enquiries and applications. When you send an enquiry, ask for a proposal, apply to have us manage your home, apply to become a partner, or apply for a position: your name, email address, phone number, the dates and details you give us, and the page you sent it from.
- Your account. When you create one: your name, email address and phone number, your email preferences, and what you do in the portal — the stays you hold, the experiences you save or arrange, and the people you add to a trip.
- Bookings. When you book a stay: the lead guest's name, email and mobile number, the number of adults and children, the dates, the price and taxes, whether it has been paid, and anything you tell us in the notes.
- Payment. Your card is typed into a payment form that Stripe runs and controls — on this site it is embedded in the page, and in the app it opens over the screen. Either way the details go straight to Stripe: we never see, receive or store your card number. We keep a record of the payment and its reference.
- People you add to a trip. Their email address and the name you give, so they can see the itinerary and, in the week before arrival, the house details. If you add someone, we email them to say so.
- Messages. What you write to us in the app, and what we write back. They are kept with your account so the conversation is still there next time.
- Notifications. If you allow them, a notification token for that phone, so we can tell you a booking is confirmed or the office has replied. Separately, and only if you switch it on, a partner business in our directory may send you a note about what is on — at most one a week from any one of them, and never your name or contact details with it. It is off unless you ask for it, and you can turn it off again in the app under Notifications. It identifies the device, not you, and it is deleted when you turn notifications off or close your account.
- Newsletter. Your email address and name if you join, and the fact of when you joined or left.
- Web logs. Your IP address, browser and the pages requested, kept briefly for security and to keep the site working.
- How the site is used. If you are measured — see the cookie page for when that is and how to stop it — Google Analytics records the pages you open, roughly where in the world you are, and how you arrived. It is never given your name, email, phone number or confirmation code.
We do not buy data about you, we do not advertise to you elsewhere, and nothing you give us is used to build a profile of you.
Why
To answer you and arrange what you asked for; to hold, confirm and run your stay, including the emails about it; to release the house details to the people on a booking at the right time; to pay homeowners and partners; to send reminders you have not turned off; to send the newsletter if you joined it; and to keep the site secure. We rely on the contract between us and on our legitimate interest in running the business; for the newsletter and for optional reminders we rely on your choice, which you can change at any time.
Who sees it
Our own team. Our service providers, who process it for us under contract and only on our instructions: web hosting (Vercel), our database and sign-in provider (Supabase), our email provider (Resend), our payment provider (Stripe), our measurement provider (Google Analytics, which sees pages and not people), and — only if you allow notifications — the service that delivers them to your phone (Expo, and through it Apple or Google). A homeowner sees the dates, the party size and the booking reference for a stay in their home — not your name and not your contact details. A partner sees your details only if you arrange something with them through us, and only what they need to provide it. The people you add to a trip see the itinerary you share. We do not sell your information and we do not share it for advertising.
Emails
We send emails about your reservation — confirmations, receipts, reminders before and after a stay — and about trips you are on. Confirmations and receipts are the record of your booking and are always sent; reminders, itinerary updates and news can be turned off under Email Preferences. Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link.
How long
Enquiries and applications for as long as needed to deal with them and for a reasonable period afterwards. Your account for as long as you have one. Booking, payment and tax records for as long as accounting and tax law require, which in Florida is generally several years. The house details are released to a booking only from a week before arrival to the day after departure.
Your choices and rights
You may ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. Your profile and email preferences are editable in your account; you can remove people from a trip yourself. Write to stay@engageddestinations.com for anything else and we will answer within a month. Florida and other states give residents specific rights over their personal information; we honour them for everyone.
Security
Data is stored with access controls that let a guest see only their own affairs, a homeowner only their own home, and a partner only their own listing, enforced in the database itself. Payments are handled by Stripe, which is certified to the payment card industry's standards. No system is perfect; if we learn of a breach affecting you we will tell you.
Children
The site is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their information. A booking may record the number of children in a party but nothing about them.
Changes
We will post changes here and update the date above. A change that matters to you — a new use of your information, a new kind of provider — will be announced by email to account holders.
